CBR : SHG’s

It is wonderful to note that 78 self-help groups (SHG) are formed in 46 Gram panchayats and 538 PWDs are involved in them. They have a savings of Rs.2,90,548/-. They conduct their regular meetings and deposit their premium in their bank accounts on a regular basis and have started linkage with banks for availing loan facilities. Our CBR workers are helping them in book keeping and maintaining the records. After getting the loans through SHGs, they begin income generation activities (IGA) and small business in their villages.

Seeing their savings, the banks have started giving them loan directly. The PWDs and their parents are enthusiastic and 23 SHGs have mobilized micro finance loan support from different banks. According to the provision of small loan schemes, they have got loan support of Rs.4,76,654/-. So far 166 PWDs have taken loans through SHGs and they are doing small business like - betel shop, green grocery, mat making, petty and seasonal business in their villages and earn their livelihood. As a result their standard of living has improved and they make their life a little more comfortable with fans, TV, brass utensils etc.
